1"QuanSeal" piston and rod seals are used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
This seal is a combination of a PTFE slip ring and an energizing O-ring. It is produced with an interference fit, which together with the squeeze of O-ring ensures a good sealing effect even at low pressure. At higher system pressures, the O-ring is energized by fluid, pushing the slip ring against sealing face with increased force.
We produce a wide range of PTFE piston and rod rings for a variety of standard piston bore and rod dimensions.

3NPRS is a rotary lip seal that feaatures an ID lip that seals dynamically on a shaft and an elastomeric O-ring on its OD to seal statically in a bore. Since the lip is not spring energized, the radial lip contact forces are lower, which allows the seal to function at much higher surface speeds(up to 5000s sfpm).
The seals are manufactured form a wide variety of PTFE composites and other machinable plastic materials.Standard O-ring choices are fluorocarbon, silicone, nitrile and EPDM. This broad foundation of sstandard Oring and PTFE materials can be tailored to suit nearly all applications. Standard and Non-standard profiles are precision machined to fit inch-fractional and metric gland geometries. 6PTFE sealing lips are PTFE compound discs that are mechanically formed to a diameter slightly smaller than the shaft. The forming of the lip creats a shape that takes advantage of the hoop strength of the PTFE compound discs. This hoop strength provides the load that is critical for low or no pressure applications to obtain a positive seal.
The sealing element typically has a smooth surface contacting the shaft. For applications sealing liquid at below 0.1Mpa, a hydrodynamic spiral feature can be machined into the surface of the sealing element to provide a positive pumping action to drive fluid away from the air side of the seal.It is critical to match the seal to the shaft rotation to ensure positive sealing.
